The Commercial Enhanced Data Program (CEDP) is a Visa standard that replaces the prior Level 2/3 program for Visa transactions. Under CEDP, merchants must submit complete and accurate invoice-level transaction details for commercial and business credit card payments. Visa reviews the submitted data and uses its quality to determine eligibility for reduced interchange fees.

How it works

Visa reviews Level 2 and Level 3 data submitted on commercial card transactions.
Merchants are assigned a status of Verified or Not Verified based on the quality of that data.
Verified merchants qualify for interchange incentives. Not Verified merchants do not.

Fees

Visa applies a 0.05% participation fee on applicable commercial transactions that include enhanced Level 2 or Level 3 data. This fee is passed on to merchants at the payout stage. Merchants that meet Visa’s quality standards receive reduced interchange rates in return.

Support

Merchants who receive CEDP error reports should review the codes and update their data accordingly. BlueSnap does not provide instructions for fixing individual errors. For help interpreting Visa’s requirements, refer to your compliance team or payments advisor.

What this means for merchants

Error codes

If the data is missing or incorrect, Visa returns an error code from the following list. BlueSnap publishes these codes as provided by Visa, but does not give guidance on how to correct the data. Merchants are responsible for ensuring their data meets Visa’s requirements.
