BlueSnap makes it easy to securely transfer your entire merchant portfolio to our system. We work with you to securely migrate your data so you never have to handle it yourself.
Prerequisites
Before you can migrate your merchant portfolio, you must have the following:
- Access to the sandbox environment for your primary partner account
- API password
Written confirmation
You must get written confirmation that all merchants agree to the following:
- Merchant Terms & Conditions
- Merchant Agreements
- Pricing agreement
Most partners get the written confirmation through email before they change payment providers. For example, you can send the following language in an email and require that each merchant checks a box to indicate their consent:
Email Template
I have read and agree to the Merchant Application Terms, Merchant Agreement, and Pricing Agreement [link to agreed-upon pricing between yourselves and BlueSnap].
In addition, you must capture the date of their consent to fill in the appropriate fields in their Migration Template.
Migrate Your Portfolio
Merchant Migration Templates
- Contact your BlueSnap Implementation Engineer about merchant portfolio migration.
- Download the applicable Merchant Migration Template XLSX files. You can download the files through the Merchant Portal, or select the link below to download the template for your merchant, by region:
- Complete the template with your merchants' information. The fields have the same requirements as the corresponding New Application API request.
Upload Templates
After you complete the template and get written confirmation, you can upload the materials to BlueSnap:
- Log into your BlueSnap Sandbox Portal and go to Settings > Merchant Onboarding Tool.
- Enter your API password.
- Select Select File to browse your filesystem for the completed Merchant Migration Template.
- Select Validate and Upload to upload the template.
After the file uploads, the File Validation Summary displays:

If any accounts failed validation, select Create Failure Report to view the required changes before you resubmit. Remember to review the data validation requirements for the applicable region.
Document Requests
After you upload the template, you will receive communication from BlueSnap about the next steps. Depending on your partner setup, you receive an approval email or IPNs to inform you of merchant approval progress.
During the migration process, we might need additional documents from your merchants to verify their account. This process depends on which product you use:
- BlueSnap Dash™ — BlueSnap requests documents directly from your merchants.
- BlueSnap Relay™ — BlueSnap requests documents from you. You can upload them through the Partner Portal or submit them with the Document Upload API.
You can track the progress of your migration and respond to any additional information requests from your Partner Portal. After your merchant portfolio is securely transferred to BlueSnap, you can start accepting payments.
